Baylor A&T Media Availability - Thursday, Feb. 2, 2pm

Good afternoon!

Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling will be hosting media availability on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 2pm in the Marrs McLean Gymnasium in the heart of Baylor’s campus. Head coach Felecia Mulkey and select student-athletes will be available to answer questions ahead of the season-opening meet on Sunday, Feb. 5, against West Liberty (3pm) in the Ferrell Center.

Items of Note:

  *   Baylor won its seventh-straight NCATA Championship in 2022. It was Mulkey’s 11th career championship overall.
  *   BU returns Athlete of the Year Emily Tobin and Specialist of the Year Bayley Humphrey, returning 28 from last year’s squad overall.
  *   There are 14 newcomers on the squad coming from various backgrounds and from seven different states.
  *   Courtney (Pate) Oates returns to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2023 after serving as UMHB’s inaugural head coach.
  *   BU has four home meets this season – West Liberty (2/5), Presbyterian (2/19), Quinnipiac (3/25) and Oregon (4/1)
  *   This year’s national championship will be held at West Liberty (4/27-29)
  *   There are now 51 schools who sponsor A&T, with ~14 institutions currently recruiting their first class and four institutions who will compete for the first time this season. There are 38 schools who will compete this season overall with over 900 student-athletes.

A reminder that Marrs McLean is across from the Baylor Student Union Building, cattycorner to the Bear Habitat and bookstore, and next to the rec tennis courts and fountain mall. Parking can be found at the bookstore or in the parking lot between the SUB and Pat Neff Hall.
