LAWRENCE, Kan. - The No. 23 Baylor women’s basketball team remains on the road for a meeting with No. 21 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Baylor picked up its second top-25 win of the season on Tuesday, powering past No. 17 Oklahoma, 81-70, in its first true road game in 2022-23. The Bears held the No. 4 scoring offense in the country to 18 points below their season average, as the Sooners’ 70 points were the second-lowest scoring output in a game this year.



Junior Sarah Andrews poured in a career-high 30 points with zero turnovers, while fifth-year Caitlin Bickle notched her second double-double of the season with 10 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Senior Jaden Owens led the team with six assists, while turning in a career high six steals to become the first Bear since 2020 to record as many in a game.



CONFIDENCE IN CONFERENCE

Dating back to last season, the Bears have won 12-straight regular-season Big 12 games and are 17-1 in their last 18 Big 12 outings. After Tuesday’s win at Oklahoma, head coach Nicki Collen has now beaten each of the other nine Big 12 schools in the regular season after the Sooners swept the series last year.



Through two games, Sarah Andrews ranks second in the Big 12 in 3-point field goals per game (4.00), third in scoring (22.0 ppg) and seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (38.1%). Her 30-point performance against the Sooners marked the fifth 30-point game in the league this season and first by anyone during Big 12 play.



Graduate Ja’Mee Asberry sits just outside the top five in the conference in field goal percentage (54.5%) while leading the league in minutes per game (38.13).



SCOUTING KANSAS AND THE SERIES

Baylor leads the all-time series with Kansas, 37-8, and has won the last 17 meetings dating back to the 2013-14 season. The last loss by the Bears was a 76-60 decision in Lawrence, where BU is 14-5 against the Jayhawks.



Saturday’s matchup will mark the first women’s basketball game at Allen Fieldhouse between two ranked teams since Kansas lost to then-No. 1 Baylor, 82-60, in January 2013.



The Big 12 Co-Player of the Week, Taiyanna Jackson, recorded her ninth double-double of the year in a win over Texas Tech on Wednesday, helping Kansas improve to 2-0 in Big 12 play for only the fourth time since the formation of the conference and first time since the 2012-13 season. The Jayhawks have three players averaging double figures, led by Jackson, who is also averaging 12.6 rebounds per game.
