WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s tennis plays host to third-ranked TCU and 17th-ranked Arizona on Wednesday and Friday nights at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center, with first serve scheduled for 6 each night.

The Bears (5-2) welcome TCU to Waco for the first of at least two matchups against each other this season, with the Bears scheduled to travel to Fort Worth April 6 for a conference bout.

In the 2022 season, the Bears took two of the three matches against the Horned Frogs, including the Big 12 Championship title match that finished in a 4-2 decision to hand Baylor its third-straight postseason championship.

The Frogs (7-0) currently hold ranked wins against No. 10 Tennessee in Knoxville and No. 14 North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Arizona (5-1) is 0-1 against ranked opponents this season after falling to then No. 6 Texas, 4-0, in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Regional Championship match. The Wildcats begin their Texas road trip against the Bears on Friday before heading to Austin to face Texas again on Sunday.

Baylor leads the all-time series against Arizona 3-1, with BU’s three wins coming in each match since 2004.

In the ITA coaches’ poll, the Bears moved back up one spot to No. 11 in last Wednesday morning’s edition of the poll, which matches their highest ranking of the season.

Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi are at No. 3 in the doubles rankings released at the end of the fall season, with the pair splitting for Bass' No. 23 and Grassi Mazzuchi's No. 115 rankings in singles. Tadeas Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz also boast a No. 59 ranking in doubles.

The first round of individual spring rankings will be released Wednesday morning before the match.

Velcz and Marko Miladinović lead the team with five singles wins each so far this season, while Paroulek and Velcz have a perfect 5-0 record in doubles.

Live stats will be available to follow online and Cracked Racquets will be providing commentary with the Playsight stream on YouTube.
