WACO, Texas -- As part of the opening games of the Paul & Alejandra Foster Pavilion on Jan. 2 and Jan. 3, fans are invited to arrive early and join in the celebration as Baylor University unveils its new home for Basketball on the Brazos.

The opening night on Jan. 2 will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m., with doors opening to fans at 5:30 p.m. The excitement continues Jan. 3 when the court will be blessed prior to tip-off by Baylor University Chaplain Dr. Burt Burleson.

A bevy of unique promotional activities and game enhancements are planned for the opening two days of The Foster, including a limited-edition commemorative coin. A new Foster Pavilion logo is the centerpiece of the gold coin, with the date and opponent displayed on the back. There will be two unique coins* for fans to collect, each available only at their respective Foster debuts.

Once inside Foster Pavilion, fans can anticipate new atmospheric elements during their in-seat experience as well as entertainment at halftime. For the men’s game vs. Cornell, the halftime entertainment will feature Christian & Scooby, a pint-sized pup and his acrobatic partner, who debuted on America’s Got Talent in 2014. The pair has been a fixture on the halftime entertainment circuit in collegiate and professional sports.

For the women’s game vs. TCU, Red Panda makes her return to Waco. This well-known act has been astounding halftime audiences around the country for thirty years, with her 7-and-a-half-foot-tall unicycle, and stack of white bowls.

Prior to tip-off, fans will have the opportunity to see local favorites take the court. Matt Sayman, a four-year letterwinner and starter on head coach Scott Drew’s first team at Baylor, will provide an opening game invocation on Jan. 2. Holly Tucker, from The Voice, will perform the National Anthem on Jan. 3.

STUDENTS

The Foster features an exclusive Student Entrance for Baylor students. The new student section spans three unique locations: courtside, lower baseline and upper baseline. Students can expect the return of giant banners that span the courtside location and the opportunity to directly impact the game.

To honor the students returning to campus during break, Baylor Athletics will have a piece of basketball court for students to sign that will hang in Foster Pavilion for years to come. Coins will be distributed to students at their entrance and students will have the opportunity to receive exclusive swag to wear on game days in the Pavilion.

The Jan. 3 clash will feature the first t-shirt from the new Baylor student collection for Big 12 match-ups, given to first 100 students in attendance.

Student Tickets are still available to claim. Visit the Student Game Day website here<https://studentgameday.web.baylor.edu/tickets/basketball>.

* Fans can claim one coin per ticket exclusively on gameday. Coins will not be mailed.
