Baylor MBB Places Six on Academic All-Big 12 Second Team

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's basketball had six players named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second team, announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Dale Bonner, LJ Cryer, Langston Love, Zach Loveday, Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua and Flo Thamba were six of the 34 honorees from Baylor across all winter sports. Six total honorees ties for the most in program history, and 2023 marks the seventh-straight season in which the Bears have had multiple players named to Academic All Big 12 Teams.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. The 2023 academic all-conference men’s basketball team consists of 36 total student-athletes.

Tchamwa Tchatchoua, an Environmental Health Science major, is making his third-straight appearance on an All-Big 12 Team after previously taking home second-team honors in 2021 and 2022.



Thamba completed Master’s Degree in communications, while Bonner, Cryer, Love and Loveday are also communications majors. All five players are first-time honorees.



Baylor has now had 25 second-team selections by 18 different players.
