WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Dominika Silvestri has been named the Big 12 Fences Co-Rider of the Month, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Silvestri went 3-1 in Fences in March, improving her overall record in the event to 8-5-1. With a pair of wins at the Big 12 Championship, she was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer in the event after averaging a 226.5 three-judge score across her two rides. In the Bears’ regular-season finale at No. 3 TCU, Silvestri earned her third Fences MOP of the season with an 84-77 victory.

The Andover, Mass., product scored an 84.67 on average between her four Fences rides on the month, including BU’s two highest Fences scores of the year, an 87 and 86.67. Silvestri helped the Bears to back-to-back event wins at the Big 12 Championship, something the Fences squad had done just twice before this year.

This is Silvestri’s fifth monthly award of the year at either the national or conference level. After already proving her prowess in Flat as the Big 12 Flat Rider of the Year and an NCEA Flat All-America selection, Silvestri adds to her trophy case with her second Fences monthly recognition of the season.

Baylor has now received 12 monthly awards on the 2022-23 campaign, its most in program history beating out 2020-21 and 2015-16’s marks of 11.

BU finished the 2022-23 season at 6-9 overall with a third-place finish in the Big 12 Championship. The Bears earned the No. 8 seed for the NCEA National Championship and will face No. 1 SMU when nationals begin on Thursday, April 13, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla.
