Baylor Volleyball Media Availability - 9/20/22, 9:40am, Ferrell Center

Hello, all!

Baylor volleyball will host media availability tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 9:40am in the Ferrell Center media room with head coach Ryan McGuyre and select student-athletes being available to answer questions.

The Bears are hosting TCU on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. for the Big 12 opener which will be BU’s Go Gold Match.

A few items of note:

  *   Head coach Ryan McGuyre is looking for his 500th career win on Wednesday. He is 499-191 over his 21 years of head coaching, 164-58 all-time at Baylor in his eighth season.
  *   Wednesday is Baylor’s Go Gold match, where all fans are encouraged to wear gold apparel to support the Bears in their conference opener. Fans are also encouraged to check in to the Baylor Bold Rewards app, where they will earn an extra 20 points if they also check into soccer’s match on Friday and be entered to win a special prize. There will also be gold giveaways at the match for fans.
  *   The Bears are 4-3 in Conference openers and 5-2 in Big 12 openers at home under McGuyre.
  *   Baylor is on a nine-match winning streak, eight being sweeps and seven of those coming at home in the Ferrell Center. BU is also on a 12-match winning streak in the Ferrell, dating back to the Texas match on 11/6/21. The Bears have also won 25-consecutive sets as of today.
  *   One of the many branches on McGuyre’s coaching tree, Jason Williams returns to Baylor for the first time since becoming the head coach at TCU after serving as a Baylor volleyball assistant. He was most recently an associate head coach in the 2021 season.
