QUOTABLE
Head Coach Ryan McGuyre
“Really proud of our team’s resiliency and ability to fight on the road. I thought we came out super strong offensively in the first set. We’ve got a lot of people healthy now and I thought that offensive rhythm looked really good for us. Second set was a little bit more of the same. The third set, I was disappointed with how we started. Oklahoma is still a good team, they have a lot of powerful hitters. Fourth set we were down again, I think maybe even 20-15, and we talked about getting our way back into it. Great serving to finish that out but I thought [Alexis] Dacosta’s defense kinda wheeled us back into the match, she led us in digs tonight and did that by only playing three rows. So the rows that she did play she was pretty exceptional with that. Allie Sczech had a great night, second in kills for us. Our middles continue to do well but it was nice to have Allie turn the tide for us. Her best sets seemed like they were the last two. At the end of the day, I realize how many freshmen we have. Definitely there are some things I’m disappointed in but what we’re expecting them to do is such a high, high level, so I appreciate the team’s maturity going on the road in the Big 12. Hard to beat teams once, let alone twice, so glad we could get the win and get out of there.”

WHAT’S NEXT
The Bears return home to the Ferrell Center for a Sunday midday match against West Virginia to be broadcast on ESPN2.
