TULSA, Okla. – Baylor men’s tennis completed Friday’s play in the ITA All-American Championships, with Finn Bass and Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi winning their consolation quarterfinals match, 6-3, 6-3.



THE RUNDOWN

The doubles pair of Bass and Grassi Mazzuchi took to the courts for their Friday afternoon match against the No. 5 team in the nation, Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele from Oregon. While the Ducks made a late first set run to nearly take the set, the Bears stormed back to down the Ducks, 6-3. In the second set, it was all Baylor as Bass and Grassi Mazzuchi made their way to a quick 6-3 win to clinch the match.



Bass’ great run in the ITA All-American Championships came to a close in singles on Friday with his loss to No. 14 Ronnie Hohmann, 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-3. The fifth-year senior ends the tournament with a 4-2 singles record.



WHAT’S NEXT

Bass and Grassi Mazzuchi face Louisville’s Fabien Salle and Natan Rodriguez in the semifinal round of the consolation bracket at noon on Saturday.
