TULSA, Okla. – Baylor men’s tennis completed Thursday’s play in the ITA All-American Championships, with Finn Bass taking a huge victory in singles, followed by another win paired with Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi in doubles.



THE RUNDOWN

Bass took the courts at noon on Thursday against nationally-ranked Nikola Slavic in his first consolation match of the tournament. The fifth-year senior, who battled his way up through the qualifying draw, defeated No. 6 Slavic with after a dominating first set performance, 6-1, 7-5.



After falling in the first doubles round on Wednesday, Bass and Grassi Mazzuchi returned to the courts again to find victory against the Martin/McDaniel pair from Georgia Tech. With a nail-biting 7-6(6) tiebreaker win in the first set, the pair stormed out and won the second set 6-2.



Tadeas Paroulek fought hard in the second round of the main singles draw, but fell after an impressive second set performance in a three-set thriller, 6-3, 1-6, 7-5.



WHAT’S NEXT

Bass faces No. 14 Ronnie Hohmann for yet another nationally ranked test on Friday morning at 10, followed by his consolation quarterfinal match with Grassi Mazzuchi at 4 p.m.
