IRVING, Texas – Junior Adrian Boitan of the No. 9-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team has earned his third Big 12 Player of the Week accolade, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Constanta, Romania, native went 2-0 against No. 1 TCU on Friday in Fort Worth.

In doubles, Boitan and Tadeas Paroulek clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win on court three over Juan Carlos Aguilar and Pedro Vives Marcos. With the win, they improved to 9-3 as partners, with Boitan at 10-4 overall, while he is now 26-13 in doubles in his career.

On the singles courts, No. 15 Boitan bested No. 14 Aguilar, 6-3, 6-3, on court one to give the Bears their third point of the night. Boitan moves to 13-0 in dual matches, all on the top court, and is now 61-16 in his career. He is also 5-1 on the season against ranked opponents.

This is his third Big 12 honor of the spring, earning the award on February 15 after the matches with ranked Texas and Virginia teams along with Tulsa, as well as on March 15 after winning against then-No. 18 Arizona and Arizona State.

Boitan and the Bears will be back in action on Friday, April 1, with the opening of Big 12 play on the road at No. 10 Texas in Austin, with first serve set for 6 p.m. at the Texas Tennis Center.
