BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Baylor track and field brought its indoor season to a close at the NCAA DI Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Birmingham Crossplex. The men’s and women’s 4x400-meter relays were the only events with Bear participants.

The men’s 4x400, comprised of Dillon Bedell, Hasani Barr, Nathaniel Ezekiel and Matthew Moorer, found an 11th-place finish in the event with their 3:08.59 race. Howard Fields III originally qualified as the anchor for the event but sat out due to an injury agitated during his 400-meter competition Friday afternoon.

Kavia Francis, Imaobong Uko, Gontse Morake and Mariah Ayers carried the baton for Baylor on the women’s side, finishing in ninth place. Their time of 3:35.79 was shy of an All-American honor by just under eight-tenths of a second.

Baylor officially opens up its outdoor season next Friday and Saturday at the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas.
