No. 20 Baylor WT Hosts Doubleheader on Sunday

WACO, Texas – No. 17 Baylor women’s tennis (7-4) will host a doubleheader on Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center. The Bears start the day against North Texas (8-3) at 11 a.m. before taking on ACU (5-6) at 5 p.m.



BU is coming off a 4-0 sweep at Rice on Wednesday. After taking the doubles point for the ninth time this season, it was the bottom of the singles lineup that clinched the sweep for the Bears. Freshmen Alina Shcherbinina and Anita Sahdiieva along with junior Paula Barañano each won in straight sets.



That gives Barañano and Shcherbinina a team-high nine wins on the spring with Sahdiieva close behind with eight.



Baylor boasts the No. 1 doubles team in the nation in Alicia Herrero Linana and Mel Krywoj. The duo is 8-1 this spring.

Cub Tennis presented by Raisin’ Canes will take place at 10 a.m. on the riverside courts on Sunday.
