WACO, Texas – Nathaniel Ezekiel and Imaobong Uko qualified for the World Athletics Championships that will be held next month in Eugene, Ore. The trio joins Baylor alumni Trayvon Bromell at the first world championships ever held on U.S. soil.



Ezekiel’s personal-best 400-meter hurdle race of 48.42 seconds, set at the Big 12 Championships in Lubbock, puts him at No. 8 in the world this season. The conference champion will compete in the first round of competition on July 16 at 1:20 p.m. CT.



Uko is back on the national stage in the mixed relay, after her stint on the squad for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Team Nigeria is currently ranked No. 1 with its 3:15.58 time set at the Nigerian Championships in Benin on Sunday evening. Uko also holds the No. 1 Nigerian quarter mile time set at the Big 12 Championships and falls 44th in the world.
