WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s tennis received one first-place vote and was picked second by the league’s head coaches in the 2022 Big 12 Preseason Poll on Wednesday.



Baylor is coming off a 2020-21 campaign that saw the Bears go 24-5 on the season with an 8-1 mark in conference play. BU returns a trio of contributors in Mel Krywoj, Alicia Herrero Linana and Paula Baranano.



Texas received nine of the 10 first-place votes in the poll and were projected the regular-season champion. Baylor came in second with one first-place vote. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were third and fourth, respectively, with Iowa State coming in fifth. Texas Tech, Kansas, TCU, Kansas State and West Virginia rounded the remaining slots.



The Bears begin the season at the Bella the Ball Collegiate Invite in Las Vegas this weekend.
