THE VOLUNTEERS
Tennessee bested No. 13 South Carolina on Saturday, 4-2, to improve to 10-1 overall on the season and to advance to the quarterfinals. They swept No. 12 Texas A&M, 4-0, on Friday to start off the tournament.

QUOTABLE – Head Coach Michael Woodson
“I thought we came out with fantastic energy and played with great discipline in the doubles. I thought we responded well from yesterday to today in some things we wanted to work on. We were able to execute and did a great job at all three positions to grab hold of the match. It was fun to see and exciting to get up 1-0. To Kentucky’s credit, they fight really hard and they’re feisty, well coached, and they responded in the singles. They were more aggressive than we were and got on our heels a bit. When our backs were against the wall we responded in a lot of positions. Heck of an effort for Finn and Adrian to keep battling, and Juampi turned his match very sharply from the first set to the second and he was able to keep that momentum. To see the guys fighting together – these are the types of matches that we really need if we’re going to have success as the season goes on.”
