Springfield, Mass. – Baylor’s Jordan Lewis earned a spot as a Top 10 candidate for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association 2022 Nancy Lieberman Award, announced Monday.

The sixth-year grad transfer ranks second in the Big 12 with a 2.17 assist-to-turnover ratio and third in the league with 5.2 assists per game. Lewis is No. 15 in the nation amongst active Division I student-athletes with 1,832 career points and second with 625 career assists. She leads the country with 152 career games played.

The Windermere, Fla., native became just the third Bear in program history to log a triple-double with a 10-point, 10-rebound, 11-assist performance in Baylor’s win at West Virginia on Jan. 29. It also marked just the second time a player has had at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in a Big 12 game.

On the season, Lewis is averaging 11.4 points per game for the Bears.

In March, the committee will declare five finalists, and the winner will be announced on a date to be determined with the other four members of the Naismith/WBCA Starting Five awards. Odyssey Sims won the Lieberman Award in 2014, while Alexis Jones (2017), Te’a Cooper (2020) and DiDi Richards (2021) have been past finalists for the honor for Baylor.
