WACO, Texas – The six-time defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Baylor acrobatics and tumbling team will be back on the mat to host the season opener against No. 14 UMHB at the Ferrell Center on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m. CT.

The team is led by head coach Felecia Mulkey, entering her eighth season at the helm for the Bears.

Mulkey is currently 7-0 in season openers, including a win against UMHB to kick off the the 2021 season.

The team consists of 40 returning members, adding an additional 14 freshman. Among the returners are Riley Chimwala, Kamryn Kitchens and Emily Tobin, who were named to the 2021 NCATA All-American Team.

Other home meets for the 2022 season include a rival match against Oregon on Feb. 27 and Hawaii Pacific on April 2.

A&T meets consist of six events: Compulsory, Acro, Pyramid, Toss, Tumbling and Team Routine. Teams compete in a predetermined rotation order throughout each event. Events are immediately scored by officials and overall standings are displayed on the scoreboard.
