IRVING, Texas – The Baylor men’s tennis team had two named Academic All-Big 12, announced by the conference on Wednesday.

The men’s team was made up of 24 honorees, with 20 of them being first team. First-team members maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

Christopher Frantzen and Sven Lah made up Baylor’s selections, both being named first team.

Frantzen, a native of Augsburg, Germany, is a finance major in his junior year at BU. He is one of five finance majors on the 2022 Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Lah, a Sport Management master’s student, hails from Ptuj, Slovenia. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in finance previously at Baylor and plans to have a career in trading in New York after graduation. Lah is the only Sport Management major on this year’s Academic All-Big 12 Team.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
