Story lines

• Baylor Softball will host Lamar in a midweek matchup before getting back to Big 12 play on the road at Kansas this weekend.

• The Bears (17-17) are trying to snap a seven-game losing streak as they have taken on two top-10 ranked opponents in back-to-back weekend series.

• BU is already over halfway through the season with only 18 games left. After the Bears weekend at Kansas, Baylor will play 11 of their next 18 games at home.

• The Cardinals (8-21) went 3-1 last week, picking a up a 2-1 series win over conference foe Tarleton and beating Houston Baptist in a run-rule midweek tilt.

• These two teams have previously met 15 times, with Baylor remaining undefeated against the Cardinals in the all-time record. This will be the 10th matchup on the Bears home turf.

•The Bears are currently sitting at 52 in the NCAA RPI rankings. All seven Big 12 schools currently rank in the top 100 RPI rankings.

• Head Coach Glenn Moore said this could be one of the best situational hitting teams he has ever had. Taylor Strain leads the charge in hits with two outs posting a .452 batting average when two outs are on the board. McKenzie Wilson has recorded a leadoff hit or walk in the last five contests.

• McKenzie Wilson still ranks first in the Big 12 with five triples on the season. Her .436 season batting average still leads the Bears as well as her 22 RBI. Also in the Big 12, Wilson is third in batting average (.436), second in hits (44) and first for stolen bases (17).

• Baylor as a team is fourth in the conference in pitching. BU is also leading the league in sacrifice bunts (16).

• Maren Judisch is tied for first in saves with two.

• McKenzie Wilson is 1st in percentage reached as a leadoff batter with .731, while Josie Bower is batting 1.000 with the bases loaded.

• Josie Bower is leading the league in hit by pitches (8), while Taylor Strain leads in sacrifice bunts (8).
• Aliyah Binford is tied for fifth in doubles with 10.
