WACO, Texas – Baylor senior Sarah Norman and fifth-year senior Jennifer Wandt picked up Big 12 Player of the Week awards for their efforts in the Bears’ wins over Oklahoma State and No. 8 TCU. Norman received Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Wandt takes home the Goalkeeper of the Week accolade, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

The weekly award for Norman marks the first weekly Big 12 award of her career. As a leader of Baylor’s back line, she helped the Bears start conference play 2-0, defeating top conference picks Oklahoma State and No. 8 TCU. She and the Baylor back line held both teams to just one goal each this week.

Wandt’s honor is the third time so far this season she has earned Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week. She picked up career wins No. 49 and 50 this week, moving her to the sole position atop the Baylor all-time career wins category, supplanting Dawn Greathouse (49). Wandt’s seven saves in the matchup against TCU are her most saves in a game so far this season.

They join Kirsten Davis, Texas Tech (Offensive) and Trinity Byars, Texas (Freshman) as this week’s award winners.
