Story lines

  * Baylor is set to start Big 12 conference play this week as they take on Oklahoma State on the road in Stillwater Thursday, Sept. 23 and TCU in Fort Worth on Sunday, Sept. 26.
  * Oklahoma State is 5-3-1 so far this season recently defeating Weber State 1-0.
  * TCU who is currently ranked 4th in the country, is 7-1-0 so far this season. They recently took their only loss of the season so far to No. 9 Pepperdine. The Horned Frogs will face off against Kansas Thursday to open conference play before we matchup on Sunday.
  * The Bears are coming off of a win against SFA, 3-0 and a tie (1-1) against San Francisco in a game that had to be cut short due to heat.
  * Baylor faced SFA last Thursday in what was a thriller for the fans. Mackenzie Anthony, Chloe Japic and Elizabeth Kooiman all recorded shots to give the Bears the 3-0 win. For the second straight game, Anthony and Japic scored goals. Anthony headed in a ball off an assist from Kooiman to get the Bears on the board in the 19th minute, then Japic blasted one into the bottom left corner of the net a little over seven minutes later. Baylor added an insurance goal in the 12th minute of the second half, when Kooiman scored her first goal of the season and sixth of her career off an assist from midfielder Maddie Algya. The Bears out-shot the Lumberjacks, 14-2, in the first half and 24-7 for the game. Coach Jobson substituted freely and ended up getting 18 players in the game. That included Chloe Brown, Guiliana Cunningham and Madeline Bryant seeing their first game action of the season.
  * Jennifer Wandt picked up career shutout No. 35 against SFA, only having to make two saves in the match, as the Baylor back line, also known as the no goal patrol, was able to stop the Lumberjacks. Wandt is currently ranked third in the Big 12 in shutouts this season with three and second in saves with 30.
  * Baylor also faced off against San Francisco where both teams battled it out until the 71st minute when the game was called off due to excessive heat. Baylor fell behind first after a goal from San Francisco in the 27th minute. The Dons were able to hold off the Bears in the first half but not without an effort as the Bears put up six shots. The San Francisco goalkeeper was able save shots from Ally Henderson-Ashkinos and Elizabeth Kooiman to keep the Bears scoreless. The Bears came out in the second half with a renewed momentum and scored within the first four minutes. Taylor Moon, who started her second game this week after a three-game break, lined up a perfect pass to Mackenzie Anthony who found the bottom left of the goal to tie things up. Although the game was called early, they had played 3/4ths of the game constituting it a full match and will count towards both team’s season records.
  * Anthony’s goal against San Francisco is now her sixth goal this season, she is leading the Bears in goals. That was her third consecutive game scoring a goal. she is currently ranked 2nd in the Big 12 in goals with 6 (tied with two others) and sixth in shots with 30.
  * Baylor hasn’t recorded a loss since Aug. 26 finishing its last six games in either a win or tie.
  * Coach Jobson is 6-3-1 versus Oklahoma State since he started as head coach and 5-2-4 against TCU.
