NORMAN, Okla. – No. 7 Baylor volleyball sweeps Oklahoma in the first match of two with the Sooners, downing them in straight sets at 3-0.

The Bears (19-5, 13-2) were led by Lauren Harrison, Yossiana Pressley and Avery Skinner in the 25-17, 25-14, 25-23 win over OU (10-16, 4-11).

BU is now on a six-match winning streak, with the last three being 3-0 sweeps. It is the third six-match streak of the season for the Bears.

Skinner had another double-double, her eighth of the season with 15 kills and 12 digs. Harrison had her 13th match with double-digit kills, with Pressley having her 20th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
Avery Skinner was on fire from the start, recording the Bears’ first point and then five more, two being back-to-back to make it 4-2. Skinner pushed it to 6-2 with another kill off a pass from Shanel Bramschreiber, then 7-4 off Hannah Sedwick. Her eighth kill was at 17-11 causing OU to call for a pause. It was Yossiana Pressley who put BU at their 20th point of the set, pushing the Sooners to another timeout. Pressley delivered the set point and Lauren Harrison with the final blow to close the set 25-17.

SET TWO
Bri Coleman served up an ace for the Bears for the first point of the set, then an attack error gave BU their second point. Sedwick made it 3-2 with a kill of her own. A kill from Pressley was called out of bounds, but Ryan McGuyre successfully challenged it to have the score become 4-3. At 7-3, Oklahoma called timeout. OU recorded a kill out of the timeout, but Preslie Anderson recorded the next kill for the Bears to make it 9-6. Baylor went on a run and scored six in a row with Pressley serving for five of them, now the score at 14-6. Lauren Harrison was responsible for the last two points from a kill and a solo block. The Sooners called timeout and scored out of the break, but Sedwick responded with a dump. Andressa Parise had a kill at 18-12, then the Bears pulled away and finished the set with two more kills from Pressley and three from Harrison, closing the frame at 25-14.

SET THREE
Once again, the Bears started out on top, with three-straight kills, with two from Pressley and one from Skinner. The Sooners made it 3-4 with a successful challenge and went on a run of four, ending with a bad set but still leading at 6-5. Starting to trade points, the Bears started to grind. At 13-11, Parise had a kill. Back-to-back service errors made it 15-12 and then went into a media timeout. Out of the timeout, there was a Baylor attack error, then a Harrison kill, then two more. On the third, putting BU within one at 17-16, OU called timeout. Sedwick brought it back within one at 18-17, then the Sooners went up by two more. Marieke van der Mark entered the match and immediately made an impact, recording a kill. Skinner followed her with one of her own to tie it up at 20-all. Pressley tied it up again at 21-21, then Skinner put the Bears up by one at 22-21. Oklahoma matched them, then Pressley put them ahead again. Baylor leading 24-22, OU called timeout. The Sooners had a kill out of the timeout to make it 24-23, but Harrison finished the set and the match with a kill.
