WACO, Texas – No. 7 Baylor volleyball saw three student-athletes named CoSIDA Academic All-District, the organization announced Thursday.

Fifth-year senior Hannah Sedwick and true senior Shanel Bramschreiber were named First Team, while fifth-year graduate transfer Avery Skinner was named Second Team for District 7.

The Academic All-District Awards from CoSIDA recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their performances on the court and in the classroom. First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, with recipients being announced in mid-December.

There were 10 volleyball student-athletes named First Team and 15 named Second Team in District 7 from 13 different institutions.

Bramschreiber earned her bachelor’s in communications and is working toward her master’s in sport Management. Sedwick earned her bachelor’s in communications as well, and is working toward her master’s in the same field. Skinner was a double-degree recipient at Kentucky, earning her bachelor’s in both communication studies & disorders as well as Interdisciplinary early childhood education. She is now in the speech language pathology program at Baylor.

The two First-Teamers were joined on the list by two fellow Big 12 Conference members, one each from Texas and Texas Tech. Skinner was joined on the Second Team by two from Texas Tech and one from Kansas State.

The accolade is the first for Bramschreiber and Sedwick from CoSIDA, while Skinner was previously named CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team in 2020.

Bramschreiber and Sedwick bring Baylor volleyball’s First Team All-District totals to five, while Skinner is the sixth Second-Teamer.

District 7 of the CoSIDA Awards includes institutions from Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
