Baylor Men's Tennis NCAA Credential Info

All,

Passing along some pertinent information regarding media coverage for the 2021 NCAA DI Men’s Tennis Championship in Orlando from May 17-28:

CHAMPIONSHIP DATES

  *   The men’s team event will run from May 17-22, with No. 2 seed Baylor opening against No. 15 seed Ole Miss on Monday, May 17, at Noon CT.
  *   Here’s how the rest of the tournament is scheduled:
     *   Quarterfinals – Thursday, May 20 (10 a.m./1 p.m./4:30 p.m./6:30 p.m. CT)
     *   Semifinals – Friday, May 21 (1 p.m. OR 6:30 p.m. CT)
     *   Finals – Saturday, May 22 (6:30 p.m. CT)
  *   Individual singles and doubles championships will begin on Sunday, May 23 and run through Friday, May 28. Full draws will be released at a later date.

CREDENTIALS

  *   If there is anyone needing an on-site credential, please submit a request to Max Calderone as soon as possible as the portal closes this evening (Monday, May 10).
  *   For those needing virtual access, please email Max to be added to the Virtual Media Hub distribution list.
  *   I would encourage everyone who will cover the team in-person or virtually to apply for access, even if you have no plans to travel to Orlando.

VIRTUAL MEDIA HUB

  *   All tournament and team information will be available digitally via the NCAA’s Google Drive.
  *   Headshots, logos, rosters, projected lineups and team notes will be viewable, in addition to the NCAA’s Media Guide and other tournament info.

POOL PHOTOGRAPHY

  *   As part of the NCAA’s protocols to limit individuals on site and within the “competition zone,” a tournament photographer will provide photos of each match in a pool capacity.
  *   Max will upload a handful of courtesy images to the Baylor Men’s Tennis media resources Box link as listed above.
  *   Credential requests for freelance photographers are not guaranteed to be approved.

BROADCAST / LIVE-STREAMING

  *   The Tennis Channel will be broadcasting live a portion of the team event.
  *   More details to come on broadcast windows and other live streams of all matches.

INTERVIEWS / MEDIA AVAILABILITIES:

  *   There will be no direct access to coaches, student-athletes or anyone in the Tier 1 travel party. All media availability will be conducted virtually. I will continue to send out Zoom links in advance of any preview media availabilities and post-match press conferences.
  *   For the Round of 16, pool quotes from the winning coach, losing coach, and student-athlete with the clinching victory (or another student-athlete as determined by on-site SID’s) will be distributed by the NCAA along with the box score following each match.
  *   For the Quarterfinals, the NCAA will be holding formal press conferences via Zoom with the winning coach/player, in addition to pool quotes.
  *   For the Semifinals and Championship, both the winning and losing teams will be available at the virtual formal press conferences.
  *   All interviews will be recorded and footage will be distributed following the conclusion of each press conference.
  *   For all post-match interviews, the 10-minute cooling off period will be observed.
