NOTE: I’ll send along details on the Sweet 16 game ASAP. The opponent (No. 5 Villanova or No. 13 North Texas), arena, date, tip time and TV network are all to-be-determined. All Sweet 16 games will be played at either Hinkle Fieldhouse or Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday and Sunday. We will hold a pregame Zoom media availability at a TBD time.

  *   Baylor punched its ticket to the Sweet 16 for the 5th time in the last 11 tournaments (2010, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2021).
  *   Baylor did not commit a live-ball turnover – its four turnovers included three charges and one carry.
  *   Baylor’s 4 turnovers were its 2nd-fewest this season (3 at Kansas on Feb. 27).
  *   Baylor took a 7-point lead with 10:30 left in the 1st half and led by at least 7 points the rest of the game (final 30:30).
  *   Baylor has won 4-straight games against Big Ten opponents and is 7-3 against the Big Ten in the last 10 seasons.
  *   Baylor improved to 16-14 all-time in 13 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 13-8 in the Scott Drew era.
  *   BU is now 5-1 in NCAA Tournament Second Round games in the Drew era.
  *   The Bears will face the winner of No. 5 Villanova vs. No. 13 North Texas either Saturday or Sunday at a to-be-determined time and site. The game will be at either Bankers Life Fieldhouse or Hinkle Fieldhouse.
  *   Baylor is now 11-2 against 2021 NCAA Tournament teams.
  *   Baylor has now led by at least 4 points in all 56 games since the start of the 2019-20 season.
  *   Baylor has built double-digit leads in 23 of 26 games this season (all 17 before 21-day layoff, 6 of 9 since).
  *   Baylor is now 50-6 since MaCio Teague and Davion Mitchell joined the starting lineup at the start of the 2019-20 season.
  *   Mark Vital started his 101st career game, tying Kevin Rogers for 5th-most in program history.
  *   Vital earned his 87th career win, tying LaceDarius Dunn for 7th on Baylor’s all-time wins list.
  *   Matthew Mayer (17 points) had his 4th game this season with 15+ points off the bench (3 of last 7 games).
  *   Baylor did not commit a live-ball turnover – its four turnovers included three charges and one carry.
  *   Mitchell (8 assists) tied the 4th-most assists by a Baylor player in an NCAA Tournament game.
