WACO, Texas – Baylor’s No. 8-ranked women’s golf team returns to action Friday in the Mountain View Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on a par-72, 6,350-yard course at The Preserve at Saddlebrook.



No. 8 Baylor is part of a 14-team field featuring No. 9 Oklahoma State, No. 25 Houston, No. 27 Texas, No. 32 Iowa State, No. 35 North Texas, No. 45 Tulsa, No. 47 Kansas State, Florida International, Fresno State, San Jose State, Southern Miss, Tulane and UNLV.



The five Bears have the same five golfers in the lineup as their last three tournaments, and this fivesome has comprised the BU lineup in six of seven tournaments during the 2020-21 season. The Bears have won five out of six tournaments played during the year.



Gurleen Kaur is atop the lineup, followed by Elodie Chapelet in the No. 2 spot. True freshman Britta Snyder is at No. 3, followed by redshirt freshman Hannah Karg and true freshman Rosie Belsham.



Teams will play together in fivesomes during the Mountain View Collegiate. Baylor is scheduled to tee off its first round at 10:15 a.m. CDT as the second team off the tee behind tournament-host Kansas State.



The Bears enter the tournament looking to win their sixth title of the season. BU claimed a 31-stroke victory at the Schooner Fall Classic, then followed with an 11-stroke victory at the Betsy Rawls Invitational. The Bears wrapped up the fall with a final-round comeback from five strokes down to win by one at the Cowgirl Classic, BU opened the spring with a 14-stroke victory at the Trinity Forest Invitational, then claimed a five-stroke victory at the ICON Intercollegiate.

BU players have claimed individual titles four times in 2020-21, with Kaur winning at the Schooner Fall Classic and Betsy Rawls Invitational, followed by Chapelet’s win at the Cowgirl Classic and Karg’s win at the Trinity Forest Invitational.
