Baylor Men’s Golf Finishes 11th at Cabo Collegiate

THE RUNDOWN
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf finished in 11th place with a 54-hole total of 27-over-par 891 in the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio. The Bears carded a final-round 5-over 293 on Wednesday at The Oaks Course.



No. 27 Baylor (+27) finished in front of No. 23 Houston (+31), California (+42), No. 30 Stanford (+56), Abilene Christian (+58) and Rice (+86). Eight of the 10 teams in front the Bears are top-25 ranked, including six of the nation’s top-10 programs.



BU placed behind No. 7 Oklahoma (-4), No. 4 Florida State (-3), No. 15 Texas A&M (-1), No. 21 Texas Tech (+8), No. 3 Arizona State (+10), No. 8 Oklahoma State (+14), No. 10 Texas (+15), UTSA (+16), No. 31 Arkansas (+21), No. 1 Arizona (+25).



Johnny Keefer led the Bears in both the final round and tournament total. He posted a 2-under 70 on Wednesday to finish tied for 13th place at 1-over 217. Brandon Hoff carded 1-over 73 to finish tied for 56th place at 12-over 228, while Colin Kober shot 2-over 74 to tie for 36th place at 8-over 224.



Tyler Isenhart and Ryan Grider both shot final rounds of 4-over 76, with Isenhart finishing tied for 56th place at 12-over 228 and Grider tied for 53rd place at 11-over 227. Luke Dossey, who was competing as an individual, shot a final round of 2-over 74 and finished tied for 74th place at 20-over 236.


STAT OF THE DAY
2-under – Baylor players combined to shoot 2-under on the back-9 in the final round after making the turn at 11-over. Keefer made six pars and three birdies to come in at 3-under, while Isenhart finished strong with two birdies and seven pars. Grider, Kober and Hoff all shot 1-over on the back-9.

Baylor returns to action in 12 days at the Texas Invitational, which runs March 15-16 at UT Golf Club in Austin.
