Baylor Men’s Golf Tied for Seventh at Cabo Collegiate
Bears enter final round six shots back of fourth place

THE RUNDOWN
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf is tied for seventh place after two rounds in the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio. The Bears carded 10-over-par 298 in Tuesday’s second round to sit at 22-over 598 entering the final round.



No. 27 Baylor (+22) is tied with No. 8 Oklahoma State (+22) and No. 31 Arkansas (+22). Those teams trail only No. 7 Oklahoma (+6), No. 4 Florida State (+9), No. 15 Texas A&M (+10), No. 3 Arizona State (+16), UTSA (+19) and No. 10 Texas (+20). They lead No. 21 Texas Tech (+24), No. 23 Houston (+30), No. 1 Arizona (+34), California (+36), No. 30 Stanford (+43), Abilene Christian (+54) and Rice (+64).



Tyler Isenhart posted Baylor’s best second-round score at 1-over 73 to move into a tie for 37th place individually at 8-over 152. Ryan Grider shot 2-over 74 and is tied for 30th place at 7-over 151, while Colin Kober carded 3-over 75 for a second-straight round and is tied for 27th place at 6-over 150. Kober turned around after a tough start that saw him at 6-over through six by finishing 4-under over his final six holes.



Johnny Keefer recorded the Bears’ final counting score on Tuesday with a 4-over 76, and he’s tied for 13th place at 3-over 147. Brandon Hoff shot 6-over 78 and is tied for 56th place at 11-over 155, while Luke Dossey is tied for 81st place at 18-over 162 while playing as an individual.



Five of the six teams ahead of Baylor in the standings are top-15 ranked, while the Bears lead four top-30 ranked teams and are tied with No. 8 and No. 31.


STAT OF THE DAY
4-under – Colin Kober shot 4-under over his final six holes after sitting at 7-over through 12 holes. He made birdies on Nos. 13 and 14, sank pars on Nos. 15, 16 and 18 and made an eagle on the 337-yard, par-4 17th hole. The turnaround shaved three strokes off the Bears’ team score for the day.


WHAT'S NEXT

Baylor is in the first group off the tee for Wednesday’s final round, which begins at 8 a.m. CT. The Bears are paired with UTSA, Texas and Oklahoma State. Hoff is first off the tee at 8 a.m., followed by Isenhart, Grider, Kober and Keefer in 10-minute intervals, respectively.
