IRVING, Texas – Baylor’s Gurleen Kaur and Britta Snyder have been named to the 2021 All-Big 12 Women’s Golf Team, giving the Bears multiple All-Big 12 honorees for the fifth time in program history, as announced Thursday by the conference office.

Kaur and Snyder were among 11 players named to the team, which is chosen based on an average of the season’s final Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin individual rankings. Baylor joins Oklahoma State and Texas as the only programs with multiple honorees.

A Houston, native, Kaur earned the second All-Big 12 honor of her career, following her All-Big 12 recognition as a sophomore in 2019. There were no All-Big 12 Teams named following the 2020 season cut short by Covid-19, so Kaur joins Hannah Burke and Hayley Davis as the only players in program history named to consecutive All-Big 12 Teams.

An Ames, Iowa, native, Snyder is the fourth Baylor player to earn All-Big 12 recognition as a freshman, joining Hannah Burke (2007), Hayley Davis (2012) and Dylan Kim (2015).

Kaur broke the Baylor single-season record with a 71.97 stroke average across 34 rounds, while Snyder posted the best stroke average by a freshman in program history with a 72.27 mark across 37 rounds. Snyder’s average ranks fourth among all players on the Bears’ single-season stroke average list.

Kaur will enter her fifth-year senior season ranked second in program history with a 72.64 career stroke average across 108 rounds. She’s tied for fourth in program history with 14 career top-10 finishes and tied for fifth with seven career top-5 finishes. Kaur led the 2020-21 Bears in top-5 finishes (4) and par-4 scoring (4.08) and ranked second on the team in rounds at par or better (17), par-3 scoring (3.04), below-par percentage (20.1), par-or-better percentage (82.4), total birdies (120) and birdie percentage (19.6).

Snyder led the Bears with 21 rounds at par or better and seven top-10 finishes during her 2020-21 freshman season. She also led the team in below-par percentage (21.2), birdie percentage (20.1), total birdies (134) and eagles (7) and ranked second on the squad in par-5 scoring (4.77).

Kaur ranked No. 38 nationally in the final Golfweek individual rankings and No. 55 in the Golfstat player rankings, while Snyder was No. 58 in the Golfstat player rankings and No. 62 in the Golfweek individual rankings. All five members of Baylor’s NCAA Championship lineup finished the season ranked in the top-150 of the Golfweek individual rankings, with Kaur (No. 38) followed by Elodie Chapelet (No. 59), Snyder (No. 62), Rosie Belsham (No. 99) and Hannah Karg (No. 150).

The Bears advanced to the NCAA Championship for the sixth time in program history and earned a 14th-place finish, notching the fourth top-15 national finish since 2015. BU expects to return four of the five players from their NCAA Championship lineup, with Kaur returning for a fifth-year and Snyder, Belsham and Karg all back as sophomores for the 2021-22 season.
