WACO, Texas – No. 2 Baylor men’s tennis (14-2) swept UT Arlington (1-2) Wednesday evening at the Hurd Tennis Center, 7-0.

BU collected 12 victories, including eight of the nine dual matches and an additional four unattached battles. Twelve different Bears saw action in the win.

No. 33-ranked Matias Soto/Nick Stachowiak got it started with their first dual win as partners in doubles, 6-1 over UTA’s Nick Beamish/Angel Diaz on court two. TOP QUOTES
Interim head coach Michael Woodson
On today’s match…
“It’s easy for guys, when they don’t have the best preparation and things are a little uncomfortable, to just say it’s not my day. So I was extremely impressed with Finn [Bass] and Adrian [Boitan] in particular, who haven’t had the preparation that some of the other guys had, that got down and didn’t take their hands out of the fire. UT Arlington, they fight hard, they compete great, they’re well coached, they never give up, and they make it extremely difficult on our team, which is why I love playing against them. Our guys just got so much out of that by just keeping their hands in the fire. I was really proud of a lot of the guys, but in particular Adrian and Finn for just not letting go there at the end.”

WHAT’S NEXT
The Bears (14-2) will head to North Carolina for a tough test against a pair of ranked opponents. BU will meet up with No. 16 NC State (4-3) on March 2 for a contest in Raleigh, then head to Winston-Salem to face No. 13 Wake Forest (9-2) on March 4.
