WACO, Texas – For the third consecutive year, Baylor baseball fifth-year senior catcher Andy Thomas was named to the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award (BBCSA) Watch List, the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation announced Wednesday.

The award honors the top Division I slugger who excels on the field, in the dugout and in the classroom. Thomas is one of 50 players on the list. The BBCSA will reveal semifinalists for the award in May, while the winner of the award will be announced in June.

Last season, Thomas earned the Big 12 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarship, was on the 2020 Buster Posey Watch List, and named First Team Academic All-Big 12. In January, he was tabbed to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. In his career, the Murrieta, Calif., native is a .323 hitter in 133 games played, including 123 starts. He has compiled 151 hits, 78 runs, 33 doubles, eight home runs, and 81 RBI in his time with the Bears.
