VB Foursome Earns AVCA Southwest All-Region Accolades
Three seniors named First Team

WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball had four players named AVCA Southwest All-Region on Tuesday, the organization announced.

Yossiana Pressley, Hannah Sedwick and Avery Skinner were all named First Team All-Region, while Lauren Harrison was named Honorable Mention.

This is not the first All-Region award for any of the four, as all had been named First Team previously. Pressley has earned the award four times previously, Sedwick twice, and once for both Harrison and Skinner.

The trio of first-teamers brings Baylor’s all-time total to 21, while Harrison is the fifth to earn Honorable Mention.

The AVCA will announce the DI All-Americans on Wednesday, Dec. 15. Last season, Baylor saw Pressley be a repeat First Team All-American, while Harrison earned Honorable Mention.

BEAR BITES

  *   Baylor 13-9 all-time in NCAA Tournaments, including 10-5 under head coach Ryan McGuyre.
  *   The Bears have now made it to the Regional Semifinals for three-straight seasons.
  *   BU is making its sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and has won 20 or more matches in each of the last six seasons.
  *   Baylor had 19 of its 25 regular-season matches against teams that are now in the tournament, going 14-5 during that time. The Bears are now 16-5 overall this season against teams in the NCAA Tournament.

NEXT UP
The Bears return to the court on Thursday against No. 12 Minnesota in the Regional Semifinals, taking place at 2 p.m. CT in UW Field House on Wisconsin’s campus and broadcast on ESPNU. The winner of Thursday’s match will play the winner of No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 13 UCLA in the Regional Finals on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
