WACO, Texas – Four members of the Baylor soccer program were recognized on the United Soccer Coaches all-region team, as announced Tuesday.

Named to the All-Midwest Region second team were goalkeeper Jennifer Wandt and forward Taylor Moon. Also picking up recognitions were Kayley Ables and Mackenzie Anthony, who were named to the All-Midwest Region third team. The honor is the first for Moon, Ables and Anthony, while Wandt was recognized for the third time in her career.

Wandt played and started every game for the Bears this year in goal. A fifth-year senior, she took over the top spot in Baylor record books this year in career shutouts with 39 and total wins with 52. Her 39 career shutouts also place her in the second spot in Big 12 record books. Wandt helped the team to eight total shutouts this past season, leading them to a third-place conference finish. She received three weekly Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week awards during the 2021 season.

Ables helped lock down the field this year, contributing to the Bears' eight shutouts, including four-straight in conference play. The senior collected her third Big 12 weekly award this season, as she picked up the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honor for her work in back-to-back shutouts against Iowa State and West Virginia. She played all 200 minutes that week, holding Iowa State to just one shot on goal and the Mountaineers to just five.

Moon racked up four goals this season in her 16 games started. The senior opened conference play with a goal in the first three games, helping jumpstart the Bears' 3-0 start with wins over Oklahoma State, No. 8 TCU and Texas Tech. She had a season-high five shots on goal during a non-conference matchup against North Dakota State, netting one goal in the Bears' 4-0 shutout.

Anthony, a sophomore forward, played in all 19 games for the Bears this season and started 18. She led the team in goals this season with eight and shots on goal with 30. She had a team-leading two game-winning goals and had a season high two goals against Iowa State. During non-conference matchups, Anthony recorded a goal in six of the nine games.
