WACO, Texas – Baylor football seniors Kalon Barnes, Terrel Bernard, Trestan Ebner, Connor Galvin, Jalen Pitre and RJ Sneed have been named to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watchlist, the all-star game announced Thursday.

Barnes, a true senior cornerback from Silsbee, Texas, has appeared in 31 of BU’s 36 games since his freshman season in 2018. He has posted two career interceptions with 45 total tackles, one forced fumble and 11 pass breakups throughout his time as a Bear. Earlier this summer, Barnes was named a 2021 preseason third-team All-Big 12 pick by Phil Steele.

A two-time, second-team All-Big 12 selection, Bernard has racked up 214 total tackles with nine sacks and 19 tackles for loss in his career. His 2020 campaign was off to a blistering start as he led BU in tackles, sacks and TFL before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. The inside linebacker has been named a preseason first-team All-Big 12 selection by five outlets entering the 2021 season.

Ebner, a dynamic running back and return man, was named a second-team All-American by three publications last season and a third-team selection by a fourth, mainly for his special teams contributions. He is the only running back in Baylor program history to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving for his career and currently ranks second all-time amongst BU running backs with 99 career receptions. For the upcoming season, Ebner received three preseason All-America selections and two preseason All-Big 12 honors.

A true senior from Katy, Texas, Galvin has started 23 of BU’s last 29 games at left tackle. After emerging as a starter during the second half of the 2018 season, Galvin has anchored the Bears’ offensive line throughout his time in Waco. He has been named a 2021 preseason second-team All-Big 12 selection by Athlon and a third-team selection by Phil Steele.

Pitre, a product of Stafford, Texas, has compiled 120 career tackles with 19.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks in addition to two interceptions, five pass breakups and one forced fumble. He was named to the 2020 All-Big 12 First Team and received votes for Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year after finishing as Baylor’s leader with 60 total tackles. Pitre also ranked sixth in the conference with 13 TFL and returned both of his interceptions for touchdowns. Ahead of the 2021 season, Pitre has been named a preseason third-team All-American (Pro Football Focus) in addition to five preseason All-Big 12 honors.

Sneed, a 6-1 receiver out of Cypress, Texas, has hauled in 87 passes for 991 yards and six touchdowns throughout his career. He has posted back-to-back 400-yard seasons and averaged 11.5 yards per catch since his junior campaign. This summer, three publications placed Sneed on their 2021 preseason All-Big 12 teams.

BU’s six selections to this year’s watch list are the third-most in the Big 12, following Iowa State (12) and Oklahoma (eight).

Recently, Baylor has seen Jalen Hurd (2019), JaMycal Hasty (2020), Denzel Mims (2020) and William Bradley-King (2021) participate in the all-star game.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the nation’s most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL Draft process. The Reese’s Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted and 40 selected in the first three rounds of this year’s NFL Draft. The 106 figure represents 41% of the total draft.

This year’s game will be held on Feb. 5, 2022, and will be broadcast on the NFL Network. Practices will be live on ESPN, and NFL Network will host a daily recap show each evening in primetime.
