WACO, Texas – Baylor baseball is ready for another midweek contest when it hosts UT Arlington on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:30 p.m. CT at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears (18-10) has an impressive 17-5 record against non-conference opponents, including a 4-1 mark in midweeks with its only loss coming on March 23 against the Mavericks (12-15) in 11 innings (4-3) in Arlington.

STORY LINES
• Baylor remains as one of the top hitting teams in the country statistically with a .306 team average which is good enough for 1st in the Big 12 and 8th in the nation. With the Bears 290 hits in 28 games, BU ranks 1st in the conference and 2nd in the country. Six of Baylor’s top 10 hitters are hitting .300 or better.

• The Bears are 16-2 this season at Baylor Ballpark. BU has finished its home schedule with a .500 record or better in all 21 seasons (Since 1999) and is 472-208 all-time at the park.

• With the two shutouts against NC A&T, Baylor is now 1st in the Big 12 and 2nd in the nation in shutouts with five in 2021. Tyler Thomas and Blake Helton went back-to-back with complete game shutouts which is the first time that has happened for BU since 2017.

• Last week, BU went 5-0 while dominating on the mound. The Baylor pitching staff combined for a 0.84 ERA, while holding opponents to a .174 batting average. On the week, BU outscored foes 29-6. Through 28 games, the pitching staff is sporting a 3.67 ERA which is 4th in the Big 12.

• The Bears are 87-35 against the Mavericks all-time, including 53-13 against UTA in Waco. The two sides met two weeks ago in Arlington with the Mavericks coming out on top with the 4-3 victory in extra innings.
