WACO, Texas – Baylor equestrian racked up 48 selections to the American Wood Fibers NCEA All-Academic Teams and APHA NCEA Academic Honor Roll, as announced Friday by the organization.

Thirteen Bears were named to the first team, while two more were named second-team selections. Additionally, 33 Bears earned honor roll recognition.

Baylor’s 15 first- and second-team selections are the most amongst NCEA schools.

First-team members needed to have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of her school’s meets and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

Second-team members must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of her school’s meets and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

The top academic student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters were eligible for the honor roll.

Baylor finished the 2021 regular season at 2-7 with a third-place finish in the Big 12 Championship and earned the No. 8 seed for the NCEA National Championship. The Bears will take on No. 1 Auburn when nationals kicks off on Thursday, April 15, at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.
