Bears Pick Up Three More Wins in Fort Worth

THE RUNDOWN
FORT WORTH, Texas – Baylor men’s tennis continued its weekend at the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth with three more victories over six total matches on Saturday.

Sophomore Finn Bass collected his second-straight singles victory in the tournament, defeating Oklahoma’s Jake Van Emburgh 6-4, 6-4, while graduate transfer Nick Stachowiak earned his first singles win as a Bear after defeating Oklahoma State’s Etienne Donnet 6-4, 6-4.

Grad transfer Charlie Broom fell to OSU’s Emile Hudd (No. 102) 6-0, 6-3 in his singles action, while freshman Sebastian Nothhaft showed some fight against Texas’ Payton Holden but eventually lost in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

In the earlier doubles matches, Bass/Nothhaft teamed up to take down OU’s pairing of Hotard/Martinez 8-6 for their first win as a duo. Meanwhile, Broom/Stachowiak lost to OU’s Van Emburgh/Schlageter team by the same score, 8-6.

The Bears are now 6-6 on the weekend after posting three victories each day. Bass leads BU with three wins, while Broom and Stachowiak have each picked up two.

WHAT’S NEXT
The final day of the TCU Invitational kicks off on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. CT with another set of doubles matches. Singles play will follow to round out the weekend.
