WACO, Texas – KC Lightfoot, Tuesdi Tidwell, Alex Madlock and the men’s 4x400-relay team (Ryan Croson, Howard Fields III, Matthew Moorer, Maxwell Willis) were named All-Americans for the 2020 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday.

Normal policies dictate that All-America honors are awarded based on classifications of performance at the NCAA Championships. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, the NCAA Division I Track & Field Executive Committee adopted the following criteria:

Based on the post-medical scratches startlist for the national championships posted on Wednesday, March 11 at 9:24 p.m., local, the following will be recognized as All-America for the 2020 indoor track & field season:

  * Individual events: ALL student-athletes listed on the startlist for the anticipated event.
  * Relay events: The four student-athletes per anticipated relay who produced the performance that was declared and accepted into their event. Those listed as alternates will not be recognized.

“A very well-deserved honor for a special group of athletes,” head coach Todd Harbour said. “To be that close to competing at the NCAA meet and then to not have that opportunity will always be a tough memory, but hopefully one that will build into this group even more. The 2020 indoor All-Americans will always hold a special place in Baylor track and field history.”

Lightfoot now has three All-America awards in his career following last season’s indoor/outdoor double. The sophomore from Lee’s Summit, Mo., was the USTFCCCA South Central Regional Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and was ranked No. 2 in the NCAA heading into the championships with a season-best mark and school-record mark of 19-1.5 (5.83m). Lightfoot won his third Big 12 Championship, as well, during the 2020 indoor season.

The men’s 4x400-meter relay entered the championships ranked 14th in the NCAA with a time of 3:06.93. Fields III is an All-American on the 4x4 for the third time as he was also a member of the 2018 outdoor and 2019 indoor teams that earned the distinction. Moorer is also a three-time All-American on the 4x4 as he pulled the indoor/outdoor double as a freshman in 2019. Willis (200 meters in 2017) is an All-American for the second time, while Croson earns his first All-America accolade.

Tidwell is an All-American for the second time after earning second-team accolades a year ago during the indoor season. The junior from Early, Texas, entered the NCAA meet ranked No. 4 in the country with her mark of 14-9 (4.50m), which is the Baylor indoor record. She has five of the top 10 vaults in school history.

Madlock earns her first All-America award after recording a season-best triple jump of 43-9.25 (13.34m). The junior from Bangs, Texas, ranked No. 13 in the NCAA prior to the national championships. She is the No. 2-ranked indoor performer in Baylor history.
