Baylor Track & Field Honored With 40 Academic All-Big 12 Selections
Thirty-two student-athletes named to first team.

WACO, Texas – Forty Baylor student-athletes were named to the 2020 Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Twenty members of the women’s team earned first-team honors, including Isabella Lackner, who was one of 36 to register a 4.00 grade point average. Julia Aurignac, Brianna Brown, Demitra Carter, Tiera Cleveland, Megan Daley, Haley Everroad, Jacinta Fisher, Sydney Gandy, Sadie Hamrin, Celia Holmes, Venae Jessurun, Jhane’ King, Sophia Leidner, Tiffani Peacock, Gabby Satterlee, Xianni Simmons, Tuesdi Tidwell, Samone Turner and Sydney Washington were all first-team selections, as well. Sarah Yocum, Alex Madlock, Katy Parsons, Caira Pettway and Lindsay Walton earned spots on the second team to give the women’s team a total of 25 on the two teams.

Twelve from the men’s team took home first-team accolades as Will Anderson was one of 13 in the conference to hold perfect 4.00 grade point averages. Alec Atteberry, Ian Braxton, Ryan Croson, Ryan Day, Matt Henderson, Ryan Hodge, Cal Johnston, Connor Laktasic, Riley Richards, Reese Sarnowski and Jalen Seals joined Anderson on the first team. Elijah Gifford, Matthew Moorer and JB Sandlund earned second-team awards to give the men’s team a total of 15 honorees.

A total of 384 Big 12 student-athletes earned recognition on the team, including 152 on the men's team (107 first team and 45 second team) and 232 on the women's squad (204 first team and 28 second team).

First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second-team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
