MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

  *   Baylor is 25-7 all-time when playing as an AP Top-5 team.
  *   Baylor is 8-1 when playing as the nation’s top-ranked team.
  *   Baylor is off to the best 23-game start in program history.
  *   Baylor has won 21-straight games, a new program high. It is the nation’s second-longest active streak behind San Diego State (24).
  *   Baylor has the nation’s third-longest road winning streak at eight games (Gonzaga 16, SDSU 9, SFA 7).
  *   Baylor is 8-0 in road games, the second-longest road winning streak in program history – 12 in 1945-46.
  *   Baylor’s 11-0 start to Big 12 play ties the third-longest conference-only winning streak in Big 12 history
  *   For the fifth time, and first time since 2011, a team has started Big 12 play 11-0.
  *   Baylor is 11-0 to start league play for the first time in program history.
  *   Baylor now has 20+ wins for the 11th time in the last 13 years. BU reached the 20-win mark only three times in 101 seasons prior to 2008.
  *   Baylor is 40-38 in Big 12 road games since 2012, second-best in the league behind only Kansas (50-27).

TEAM NOTES

  *   Baylor has the nation’s 10th-longest active streak with at least one 3-point FG made in 926 straight games.
  *   After holding Texas to 44 points in Waco on Jan. 4 – the lowest scoring total of the Shaka Smart era – the Bears held the Longhorns to 45 points on their home court.
  *   UT’s 45 points marked the Longhorns’ fewest on their home court since Jan. 8, 1983, when Texas lost to Kansas State, 51-43.
  *   Baylor limited Texas to 16 points in the first half. It marked the fewest first-half points by a BU opponent this season. It also marked the second time the Baylor defense has held an opponent to fewer than 20 points in the first half (18, at Texas Tech on Jan. 7).
  *   Baylor has held 21 of 23 opponents below 70 points.
  *   Baylor has held seven Big 12 opponents to 55 or fewer points.
  *   With 13:09 to play in the second half, the Longhorns cut the Baylor lead to two. A pair of free throws by Jared Butler sparked a 13-0 run by the Bears to go up by 15 over the next three minutes.
  *   Baylor started Davion Mitchell, Jared Butler, MaCio Teague, Mark Vital and Freddie Gillespie. BU is 17-0 with that starting lineup.



INDIVIDUAL NOTES

  *   Jared Butler made his 42nd consecutive start for the Bears.
  *   Mark Vital played in his 82nd  consecutive game.
  *   MaCio Teague led the Bears with 11 points. He’s been BU’s leading scorer in six of the last seven games.
  *   Teague has made at least one 3-pointer in 46 of his last 48 games and multiple triples in 38 of his last 48 games.
  *   Baylor is 19-0 this season when Teague scores 10+ points.
  *   Devonte Bandoo finished with 10 points. That marks the eighth time this season, and 20th time in his career, that he recorded double digit scoring.
  *   Davion Mitchell had two blocks which marked the first time in his career that he’s had multiple blocks in a game.
  *   Mitchell had a career high six rebounds.
