WACO, Texas - All roads lead to Albuquerque (indoor) and Austin (outdoor) as Baylor track & field is set for a 16-meet slate in 2019-20, head coach Todd Harbour announced Thursday.

“Overall, another outstanding schedule,” head coach Todd Harbour said. “It will give us the opportunity to compete against the best teams in the country on a weekly basis.”

The Bears will get things started indoors Jan. 17-18 with a return trip to the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa. Baylor will then compete in back-to-back meets in the state of Texas with the Texas A&M Invitational January 25 in College Station and the Texas Tech Invitational & Multis in Lubbock Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

On Feb. 14-15, the Bears will split to the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa to prepare for the Big 12 Championships two weeks later.

This season’s Big 12 Indoor Championships return to Ames (hosted by Iowa State) for the sixth time in seven years. The meet will take place Feb. 28-29 at the Lied Recreation Athletic Facility. Baylor will close the indoor season by traveling to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships.

The 2020 outdoor season will begin March 20-21 at the Roadrunner Invitational in San Antonio (hosted by UTSA), the first of four consecutive meets in Texas. The Bears will head straight to the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays March 25-28 before coming back home for back-to-back meets.

The 2020 Baylor Invitational will take place April 4 at Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium, and the Bears will host the annual Michael Johnson Invitational two weeks later (April 17-18) in Waco.

“We are excited to host our our two home meets again,” Harbour said. “We have outstanding men’s and women’s teams coming to both meets.”

The Bears will leave the state for the first time outdoors April 24-25 for the third annual National Relay Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., before returning to the Lone Star State for the May 1 Aggie Invitational in College Station.

The 2020 Big 12 Outdoor Championships will be hosted by Kansas State May 15-17 in Manhattan, Kan. The Bears will close the season by going to the NCAA West Preliminary Championships May 28-30 in Lawrence, Kan., and then the 2020 NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second-straight year June 10-13 in Austin, Texas.

“Our athletes are laying a great foundation for what will be another exciting indoor and outdoor season,” Harbour said.
