THE RUNDOWN
TULSA, Okla. – The Baylor women’s tennis team had a tough opening day at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Senior Jessica Hinojosa entered the consolation bracket after a tough, three-set loss to Columbia’s Akanksha Bhan, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Hinojosa will square off Tuesday against USC’s Danielle Willson at 2:30 p.m. Hinojosa is ranked No. 100 in the ITA singles rankings while Willson is No. 102.

Junior Livia Kraus teamed up with Hinojosa Monday in doubles, but the pair fell to Air Force’s Eumagali Tamijean and Meredith Jones, 8-5. Then, in a heartbreaker, the pair fell in the opening round of the doubles consolation bracket, 8-7 (4) to Illinois’ Asuka Kawai & Mia Rabinowitz.


WHAT'S NEXT

Jessica Hinojosa plays in the consolation bracket in singles Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. while Livia Kraus awaits the main draw Wednesday. Kraus is ranked No. 39 in the nation in ITA singles.
