WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf tees off in the 2019 Big 12 Championship on Friday morning at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va. The 72-hole stroke play tournament runs through Sunday on The Old White TPC, a par-70, 7,292-yard course at The Greenbrier.

Seeds for the tournament were set based on Golfweek/Sagarin ratings as of April 15. No. 1-ranked Oklahoma State is the No. 1 seed, followed by No. 7 Texas (No. 2 seed), No. 8 Oklahoma (No. 3 seed), No. 16 Texas Tech (No. 4 seed), No. 22 Baylor (No. 5 seed), No. 30 TCU (No. 6 seed), No. 39 Kansas (No. 7 seed), No. 37 Iowa State (No. 8 seed), No. 51 West Virginia (No. 9 seed) and No. 67 Kansas State (No. 10 seed).

Baylor’s lineup is led by junior Colin Kober in the No. 1 spot, followed by seniors Garrett May and Braden Bailey, junior Cooper Dossey and sophomore Ryan Grider. The 10-team field is scheduled to play 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes each on Saturday and Sunday.

Bailey is making his fourth career Big 12 Championship appearance, while Dossey and May are in Big 12 Championship lineups for their third times, Kober is making his second appearance and Grider is making his Big 12 Championship debut. All five were part of the Bears’ six-player lineup at the inaugural Big 12 Match Play Championship in October 2018.

The Bears will tee off on the back-9 for Friday’s first round in pairings with players from No. 6 seed TCU. Grider will have BU’s first tee time at 7:22 a.m. CT, followed by Dossey at 7:31 a.m., Bailey at 7:40 a.m., May at 7:49 a.m. and Kober at 7:58 a.m. Players will continue with the same pairings for the second round, but will switch starting tees with the Bears beginning the second round from the first tee.

Saturday’s third round and Sunday’s final round both begin at 7 a.m. CT with tee times in nine-minute intervals. Pairings for the third and fourth rounds will be set based on team and player standings entering each round.

The Bears won the inaugural Big 12 Match Play Championship in October 2018, giving the program its first Big 12 title since winning the 2001 Big 12 Championship in Hutchinson, Kan. Baylor has finished seventh (2015), fifth (2016), sixth (2017) and fifth (2018) in four previous Big 12 Championships under head coach Mike McGraw.

Baylor has faced six Big 12 opponents this season. The Bears defeated Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Kansas State and Kansas on their way to winning the Big 12 Match Play Championship, and BU faced Oklahoma State in five tournaments during the 2018-19 season. BU will compete against TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia for the first time this season.
