March 3, 2026 Athletics Launches Baylor Backyard Live Pre-Game Concert Series New Fan First initiative brings live music to all six home football tailgates at McLane Stadium For more information contact: Brent Ingram; 210-845-8651, brent_ingram at baylor.edu WACO, Texas -- As part of the Fan First Era, Baylor Athletics is introducing Baylor Backyard Live, a new pre-game concert series designed to elevate the atmosphere surrounding all six home football games this fall at McLane Stadium. Baylor Backyard Live will feature live music in the Baylor Backyard Tailgate area prior to kickoff each game day, transforming the pregame environment into a dynamic gathering space for students, families and fans of all ages. Programming will include high energy cover bands and a mix of local artists, bringing together the traditions of college football and live music to build momentum well before kickoff. "Over the past several years across the country, we've seen a convergence of college football and music across all genres," Jason Cook, Baylor's Vice President of Marketing and Communications and Chief Marketing Officer, said. "Live music is a great way to bring people together in a fun, energetic environment. We've seen it through our concert lineup at Foster Pavilion and McLane Stadium, and we're excited to bring this energy to tailgating before each football game this fall. It just fits with the new Fan First focus." The concert series is part of Baylor's broader Fan First initiatives announced this spring, designed to elevate the full football game day experience both inside and outside McLane Stadium. Baylor Backyard Live expands that focus by enhancing the pre-game environment and building energy for students, alumni and the Waco community. "Baylor Backyard Live is all about keeping the momentum going," Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug McNamee said. "We want our fans to feel that energy the second they step on site at McLane." With tailgating operations now managed back in-house by Baylor Athletics, the department will oversee stage placement and layout to ensure Baylor Backyard Live enhances the tailgate experience. Baylor Backyard Live will begin immediately following the Bear Walk, approximately one hour and 45 minutes prior to kickoff, and will run for one hour at each home game. The series is free for all fans to attend. Additional details, including featured performers and game specific programming, will be announced throughout the season as part of Baylor's continued Fan First rollout.
