Mon 11/13 MEDIA ADVISORY: Baylor/TCU Zoom News Conference to Unveil Name of Formal Rivalry, Commissioning of Trophy



Student Government and Athletics leaders at Baylor University and TCU will hold a Zoom news conference at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, that will formalize their century-long football rivalry through the commissioning of a trophy and the official naming of the game. The effort is the result of a months-long initiative led by the student governments of both universities.



Baylor and TCU will initiate this formal rivalry Saturday in Fort Worth, commemorating the 119th meeting of the football teams. With this game, Baylor-TCU will overtake Texas-Texas A&M to become the longest-standing college football rivalry in the state of Texas.

NEWS CONFERENCE FORMAT: The news conference will be opened by Baylor and TCU student leaders, who will provide background on the game name and trophy, followed by statements from Coaches and AD’s. Coaches and AD’s will be available for a brief Q&A before leaving for their respective Monday news conferences. Student leaders will stay on the Zoom conference for a few minutes to wrap up and answer any questions.
