WACO, Texas -- After missing an extra point earlier in the game, Griffin Kell hit a 40-yard field goal as time expired to lift No. 4 TCU to a 29-28 win over Baylor Saturday afternoon at McLane Stadium.

Out of timeouts, quarterback Max Duggan led a nine-play, 46-yard scoring drive that got Kell in position for the winning kick in a game the Bears (6-5, 4-4) led most of the way. TCU, already assured a berth in the Big 12 Championship game, improved to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in league play and remains in contention for a CFP berth.

Baylor scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns after falling behind 20-14 on Duggan's 26-yard TD strike to slot receiver Gunnar Henderson. Kell missed the extra point that kept it at a six-point game.

The Bears went back on top on Blake Shapen's 12-yard touchdown pass to freshman tight end Kelsey Johnson, who scored the first two TDs of his career. And then, Richard Reese scored his 14th touchdown of the season from one yard out to extend the lead to 28-20 with 9:47 left.

Baylor twice had a chance to ice the game, but couldn't pick up a first down and left the door open for the Horned Frogs.

Emari Demercado scored on a three-yard TD run but dropped the two-point conversion pass that preserved the lead for Baylor. But, TCU had just enough time to get in range for Kell's game winner as time expired;

Shapen threw for 269 yards and one touchdown but threw a costly pick at the end of the first half that cost the Bears points. Craig "Sqwirl" Williams led the rushing attack with 112 yards on 19 totes, while Monaray Baldwin had a huge day with six catches for 123 yards.

Baylor will close out the regular season with a matchup against Texas at 11 a.m. Friday in Austin.
