NORMAN, Okla. -- After sitting out the previous two games, Craig "Sqwirl" Williams came back in a big way, rushing for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries as Baylor became bowl-eligible with a 38-35 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Bears (6-3, 4-2) won for just the second time ever in Norman, the other one coming eight years ago during a run to a second-straight Big 12 championship.

Oklahoma (5-3, 2-4) pulled to within three with 4:05 left on a one-yard TD run by Eric Gray, who finished with 106 yards and two TDs on 23 carries. But, Baylor was able to run it out, converting a key third-down play with a 14-yard pass from Blake Shapen to Hal Presley and icing it with a 43-yard run by Williams on another third down.

With the defense picking off three passes in the first half, the Bears had a 24-21 lead at the half despite being outgained, 334-187.

Williams, who sat out the last two games against Kansas and Texas Tech, rushed for 113 yards on 12 carries in the first half alone and scored on touchdown runs of 11 and one yard.

Set up by Dillon Doyle's interception and return to the 26, Baylor took just three plays to score and went up 14-7 on Jordan Nabors' end-around run with 3:50 left in the half.

Gabriel, who had thrown only one interception in 201 passes all year, was picked off by Devin Lemear, setting up a 48-yard field goal by John Mayers that gave the Bears a 17-14 lead early in the second quarter.

Baylor had a chance to extend the lead in the last five minutes of the half, but Shapen threw a pick on a pass he led Gavin Holmes by too much and was intercepted by safety Billy Bowman at the Sooners' 20.

Baylor returns home to host its next two, facing 13th-ranked Kansas State (6-2, 4-1) at 6 p.m. next Saturday, Nov. 12, and then No. 7 TCU (9-0, 6-0) the following Saturday, Nov. 19, at McLane Stadium. The Wildcats are hosting Texas tonight, while the Horned Frogs extended their winning streak with a 34-24 victory at home over Texas Tech.
