<p class="MsoNormal"><b>WACO, Texas –</b> No. 23 Baylor volleyball readies for the 2024 season to get underway with the 19<sup>th</sup> iteration of the Baylor Classic on Friday at the Ferrell Center.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This year’s Baylor Classic features Abilene Christian, Campbell and Tulsa alongside the Bears. BU is 46-6 all time in the tournament and will start the slate off with ACU at 11 a.m. Friday for the inaugural volleyball “Future Bears Day,”
where local classrooms are invited to the match.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Tulsa will face Campbell at approximately 1 p.m. CT before Abilene Christian takes on the Camels at 5 p.m. The final match of the opening day will be the Bears versus Tulsa at 7:30 p.m.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Wildcats and Golden Hurricane are no strangers to this tournament, as ACU last participated in 2014 while Tulsa previously participated in the 2013 and 2022 iterations. Baylor is 1-0 against ACU and 1-1 against Tulsa in the Classic.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Where BU had no seniors on last year’s squad, seven will graduate from the 2024 team. Two graduate transfers in Jackie Barrett Frazier, a setter from Auburn, and Jennifer Bolden, an opposite from Howard, join true seniors Lauren Briseño
(L), Manuela Bibinbe (MB), Ava Grace Haggard (MB), Faith Lynch (DS) and Elise McGhee (OH) on the team.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Baylor brought in three freshmen in Grace Carroll (OPP), Taylor Crain (L/DS) and Emelyn Stettin (S) this spring, while redshirt sophomore Brielle Warren (OH) transfers from Purdue by way of Colorado State.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Head coach Ryan McGuyre is in his 10<sup>th</sup> season at the helm and is the winningest coach of the program with a record of 196-76. The Californian has been coaching women’s volleyball for 23 years and has produced 24 All-Americans
and one Olympian in that span.<o:p></o:p></p>
