senior RHP Jake Jackson has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.<br>
<br>
Jackson was impressive in Baylor’s 4-2 win on Friday at Kansas State, matching a season best with seven innings pitched and holding the Wildcats to one run on six scattered hits. He picked up three strikeouts and walked only one, capping his day with just 92
total pitches thrown. The Lake Forest, Calif., native faced four or fewer batters in five of his seven frames to punctuate his efficient outing.<br>
<br>
Since moving into the Friday role in BU’s rotation, Jackson has posted a 4.85 ERA in two starts. The veteran right-hander has given the Bears great length, working six and seven innings, respectively. Jackson’s win over K-State marked his fourth victory of
the year as he improved to 4-4 and lowered his ERA to 7.87 in 2022. <br>
<br>
This is Baylor’s fourth weekly accolade of the 2022 season, as Jackson joins Tyler Thomas (Pitcher, March 7), Kyle Nevin (Player, April 18) and Kobe Andrade (Co-Newcomer, April 18) as recipients. This is the first year that Baylor has garnered multiple Pitcher
of the Week honors since 2018, when Cody Bradford earned the distinction three times. Under seventh-year head coach Steve Rodriguez, Jackson becomes the ninth weekly pitching honoree.<br>
